Flo's Little Gardeners: Garden Day
Join us for a free, parent-supervised gardening day where children and families can learn how to care for a garden—and then use some of what’s ready to harvest to create a simple, seasonal snack together!
This hands-on experience gives kids a chance to connect with nature while learning about the life cycle of plants and essential gardening skills. After tending the garden as a family, we’ll gather a few ingredients and demonstrate how to turn them into a light, healthy snack—depending on what’s ripe and ready.
There will be time to explore the garden at a gentle pace. It’s a great way to bond with your child, practice mindfulness, and experience the joy of garden-to-snack learning.
Be sure to bring your water bottles and come ready to enjoy a relaxing, nourishing time outdoors!
Flo’s Little Gardeners: Composting
Join us for a free, family-friendly garden and sustainability workshop that blends creativity with hands-on learning in nature! In this outdoor experience, families will start by making their own handmade paper using recycled materials and plants foraged from the garden. As the paper sets and dries, children and caregivers will roll up their sleeves to care for the garden—learning about plant life cycles, composting, and basic gardening skills along the way.
This interactive workshop teaches the 4R’s – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Rot – while offering kids a chance to connect with nature, develop new skills, and explore sustainable practices in a fun and meaningful way.
It’s the perfect opportunity to unplug, get your hands dirty, and spend quality time together outdoors. Please bring your own water bottles and wear comfortable clothes suitable for gardening and crafting!
